HENS IN A CORNER OF A CORNER OF DORSET…

HENS IN THE PADDOCK – DORSET

These hens live in a shady corner of our paddock. They belong to our neighbours (who also keep 3 Alpaca ‘mowers and fertilisers’ there). For us, pretty to look at and listen to as they fuss around scratching – and from time to time free eggs…Hens in the Paddock 1 Hens in the Paddock 2 Hens in the Paddock 3 Hens in the Paddock 4

    • Thanks for dropping by, and for taking the trouble to comment. Most unusually, for this decidedly backwater and totally unpublicised blog, yours is the second comment of the day… Yes the eggs are wonderful for size and colour variation, and completely delicious fresh from the box. They break and fry in a firm compact circle, without running sloppily all over the pan like shop eggs. Do you know what makes these hens are? Our neighbours don’t – they are just ID’d by colour “the brown one” or the names their children chose for them!
